Guide: No Content? No Problem. Here’s How to Build Your Knowledge Base

For brands still organizing or creating content from scratch

If you don’t have formal documents, here’s how to start building structures inside Delightree.

Start with what you do know. Think through your most repeatable processes or FAQ's:

  • How do you open a location?
  • How do you train someone new?
  • What is your mission statement?
  • Who are your approved vendors?

Build a folder structure.
Even if your SOPs aren’t written, create folders that reflect how your business functions:
  • Training
  • Daily Operations
  • HR & People
  • Marketing 

Upload placeholders.
You don’t need a polished PDF. a video, screenshot, or even a note-to-self can be uploaded as a starting point.

Build in short blocks.
Instead of waiting for perfection, build in 15-minute sprints. Add one doc per day, you’ll be surprised how quickly things come together.

  • Use the folders below as inspiration and rename, remove, or add based on your business

  • Keep it simple to start, just drop in what you already have

  • Update and expand later as you build out new training, SOPs, and tools

Suggested Folder Layout (2-Level Structure)

HR & People Hiring docs, onboarding forms, employee policies
➝ Hiring Process Interview guide, offer letters, I-9/W-4 forms
➝ Staff Policies Code of conduct, PTO policy, incident report forms
Marketing Brand guidelines, local promo templates, social media playbooks
➝ Brand Assets Logos, fonts, signage templates
➝ Campaigns Current and past promotions, flyers, emails
Technology & Tools POS training, app walkthroughs, support contacts

Tips:

  • Create folders even if you haven’t uploaded anything yet it helps you visualize the structure.

  • Don’t worry about getting it perfect! Folders can be renamed or reorganized anytime.

  • Skip “Archived” or “Old” content unless it's still in use, keep your foundation clean.
