Managing Terminated & Archived Locations
Archive locations temporarily or terminate them permanently.
You now have a safe, controlled way to manage closed, paused, or inactive locations without losing historical data or cluttering your system.
Instead of choosing between deleting a location (and losing critical compliance history) or leaving it active (and impacting dashboards and workflows), you can choose between two clear lifecycle states:
-
Terminated Locations → Permanently closed
-
Archived Locations → Temporarily paused, fully restorable
These updates align Delightree with real franchise lifecycle patterns — locations open, close, pause, and restart — while protecting reporting accuracy and compliance requirements.

What’s New
🏁 Terminated Locations
Use this when a location is permanently closed.
When you terminate a location:
-
Operational data is removed from workflows
-
The location disappears from dashboards, analytics, and assignments
-
No users can access or be assigned to the location
This is the correct long-term state for closures, transfers with no continuity, or debranded stores.
📦 Archived Locations
Use this for temporary shutdowns.
Archiving a location:
-
Removes it from analytics, dashboards, and daily workflows
-
Preserves all operational, training, and checklist data
-
Allows you to restore the location exactly as it was
-
Automatically removes access from staff assigned only to that site
Ideal for:
-
Seasonal stores
-
Renovation periods
-
Staffing transitions
-
Franchise transfers in progress
-
Locations waiting on reopening approvals
When you archive a location, any users assigned exclusively to that location are archived as well and will lose access to the platform. Once the location is restored, their access is automatically restored, too!
How It Impacts Your Organization
Corporate & Ops Teams
You gain cleaner dashboards and more accurate reporting. Closed or paused stores no longer skew:
-
Training completion
-
Compliance rates
-
Checklist counts
-
System adoption metrics
Compliance & FDD Teams
Terminated locations retain a permanent compliance snapshot, ensuring:
-
FDD accuracy
-
Proper historical documentation
-
Immutable audit trails
Field Teams
You eliminate workflow noise — only active stores appear in:
-
Launch programs
-
Checklists
-
Task assignments
-
Regional views
Location Staff
When a location is archived:
-
Staff with access only to that site are automatically removed until the site is restored
-
This improves security and operational accuracy
What You Need to Do to Prepare
1. Update Role Permissions
Decide who should be allowed to:
-
Terminate locations
-
Archive locations
-
Restore archived locations
These actions should usually belong to senior Ops, Compliance, or IT roles.
Define Internal Policies
Clarify:
-
When should a location be archived vs. terminated?
-
Who approves each action?
-
What documentation is required before termination?
-
What steps must occur before restoring an archived site?
Review Your Current Location List
Identify:
-
Locations that are closed but still appear active
-
Seasonal stores that should be archived instead
-
Sites in transition that should be temporarily hidden
